Tongabezi Lodge is a romantic hideaway on the banks of the Zambezi River just upstream of Victoria Falls. It offers a selection of houses and cottages, each beautifully furnished using local materials. Guests can dine beside the river or on their private terrace.

Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines an exclusive ambience with the warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia. Each house and cottage has its own valet who takes care of guests throughout their stay and acts as a private concierge.

There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi. Guests can do as much or as little as they wish, with game drives, bush walks and boating trips all included in the price. The best place to witness the magnificence of Victoria Falls is tiny Livingstone Island, the place where Dr David Livingstone first glimpsed Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders). Tongabezi offers five trips a day to Livingstone Island. A twin-engine boat that carries up to 12 people will take you through the fast-moving channels of the Zambezi, a thrilling journey.

Many guests combine Tongabezi with a stay at their sister property Sindabezi, which is only a short boat ride away. Sindabezi Island is unique. An idyllic, exclusive camp on its very own private isle on the Zambezi River, Sindabezi has only five open-sided thatched cottages, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting.

Tongabezi is a perfect destination for honeymoons, weddings and special celebrations.
Prices from £570 per room per night.
